The parish communities of St. Raphael, St. Jude, Most Blessed Sacrament, St. Mary’s of Winneconne, and St. Mary’s of Omro contribute more than $1 million each year toward the operating expenses of Lourdes Academy in Oshkosh. Beyond having this foundational role in the financial support of our local Catholic schools, these parishes support Catholic schools through the generous sharing of time, service, and support of their priests, staff, and parishioners.
Nearly 250 students from St. Raphael the Archangel are currently enrolled in Catholic schools throughout the Fox Valley, including Lourdes Academy. Parents from our parish and our parish priests actively participate in the life of these schools through their prayerful presence at school Mass celebrations, attendance at school-related events, and their general support of the spiritual, academic, athletic, and personal growth of the students.
This effort is part of a larger commitment within our parish to build strong relationships with educators throughout the Fox Valley. As children mature in all facets of life and grow to be advocates, we believe that the local church should have an active voice and proactive presence for the real, holistic needs of students, whether that be in a public, private, or home-based educational setting.
