Volunteer in

Human Concerns

Our human concerns ministries offer assistance to people who are in need of a helping hand. If you want to make a difference in the lives of others, to be the hands of Christ in our world, perhaps one of these ministries is for you. These ministries are not led by St. Raphael staff, but we are happy to put you in contact with the group leaders. Contact the parish office at 920 233 8044 for more info.

If you are interested in receiving the services provided by these groups for yourself or others, visit the Resources page for more information.

  • Christ Child Society: The Oshkosh Chapter is a member of the National Christ Child Society. Members are actively involved in supporting various ministries in the Fox Cities community. Through fundraisers, the society provides clothing in layettes for needy newborns and a “My Stuff” bag filled with clothing, personal items, etc. for homeless children. Items are sent to various agencies and hospitals in the Fox Valley. Members may attend workshops to see what interests them most. Time Commitment: Attending a monthly workshop and meeting.
  • Elizabeth Ministry: Elizabeth Ministry is a like-to-like outreach to women during times of miscarriage, nursing questions, stillbirth, difficulty conceiving, infertility, adoption issues, birth defects, etc. Visits to affirm, support, encourage, and to assist women in these situations take place in the home, hospital, or church settings.
  • Fr. Carr's Meal Prep: This ministry seeks volunteers who are willing to prepare food for those in need. Approximately 100 meals are prepared at St. Raphael’s kitchen on the last Saturday of each month for Father Carr’s Place 2B, a local non-pro t that serves the poor according to Matthew 25:31-46. Time Commitment: 2 hours on the last Saturday morning of the month.

The following are outside organizations/programs that St. Raphael partners with, but you must contact the organization and not St. Raphael in order to be a part of them, whether that be planning, managing, or implementation:  Back to School Fair,  Bella Medical Clinic–Baby Bottles & Walk for Life, Day By Day Warming Shelter, Prison Reform, and the Winnebago Mental Health Collection.
